Back and Neck Pain

Back and neck pain can be debilitating, as the spine serves as the main support system for the entire body. Sedentary lifestyles often contribute to spine-related problems that individuals commonly encounter.

Facial Palsy

Facial palsy generally refers to weakness of the facial muscles, mainly resulting from temporary or permanent damage to the facial nerve. When a facial nerve is either non-functioning or missing, the muscles in the face do not receive the necessary signals in order to function properly.

Fracture

A fracture is a break or a crack in a bone. The most common sites for bone fractures are the wrist, ankle and hip. Treatment often involves resetting the bone in place and immobilising it in a cast or splint to give it time to heal. Sometimes, surgery with rods, plates and screws may be required.

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is a common shoulder condition that causes pain and stiffness. It's caused by inflammation of the capsule, the tissue around the shoulder joint. Typically, you'll experience shoulder pain which can become more severe over a number of months. This is usually followed by increasing stiffness. The stiffness may affect your ability to carry out everyday activities.

Gout

Gout happens when urate, a substance in your body, builds up and forms needle-shaped crystals in your joints. This leads to pain, swelling, redness, and changes in the movement and use of the affected joint. However, not everyone with high urate levels develops gout. Patients with chronic gout can use behavioural modification such as diet, exercise and decreased intake of alcohol to help minimise the frequency of attacks.

Hemiplegia

Hemiplegia is paralysis that affects only one side of your body. This symptom is often a key indicator of severe or life-threatening conditions like a stroke, but can also happen with conditions and circumstances that aren't as dangerous. The most common cause of hemiplegia is stroke, which damages the corticospinal tracts in one hemisphere of the brain.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease that worsens over time, often resulting in chronic pain. Joint pain and stiffness can become severe enough to make daily tasks difficult. Depression and sleep disturbances can result from the pain and disability of osteoarthritis. Treatments include lifestyle measures – such as maintaining a healthy weight and exercising regularly, medication – to relieve your pain, supportive therapies – to help make everyday activities easier.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and brittle — so brittle that a fall or even mild stresses such as bending over or coughing can cause a break. Osteoporosis-related breaks most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine. Bone is living tissue that is constantly being broken down and replaced.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

What is rheumatoid arthritis? Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic (long-lasting) disease that mostly affects joints, such as the wrist, hands, feet, spine, knees, and jaw. In joints, RA causes inflammation that leads to: Pain. Swelling Stiffness. Loss of function. Normally, the immune system helps protect the body from infection and disease. RA may cause you to feel unusually tired, to have occasional fevers, and to have a loss of appetite.

Sciatica

Sciatica is a common condition characterized by pain that travels along the path of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve originates in the lower back, extends through the hips and buttocks, and branches down each leg. It is the longest and widest nerve in the human body. When the sciatic nerve becomes compressed or irritated, it can cause a variety of symptoms, with pain being the most prominent one.

Spondylosis (Cervical)

Cervical spondylosis is a general term for age-related wear and tear affecting the spinal disks in your neck. As the disks dehydrate and shrink, signs of osteoarthritis develop, including bony projections along the edges of bones (bone spurs). Cervical spondylosis is very common and worsens with age. The most common cause of spondylosis is the cumulative joint stress that occurs as people age.
